When the Solution Requires Absolute Mission Critical Reliability
Mission critical servers are an essential factor to sustaining normal business operations. Any potential disruption or loss of functions will result in catastrophic consequences that may damage productivity, reputation, and financial cost of business. Enterprise operations relying on mission critical servers for the success of their business require dedicated hardware infrastructure with strict parameters to guarantee uptime as a physical system failure might become a complete disaster.
Every critical application depends on a certain degree of fault tolerance and for IT environments, this means a complete backup system is necessary to enable continuous operation in the event of primary hardware failure. This active redundancy duplication of critical components ensures high availability and reliability for mission critical objectives. Many server systems feature 1+1 redundant power supplies as a fail-safe solution for a consistent source of power. However mission critical servers necessitate redundancy of the entire system while allowing for hot swapping maintenance repair without interrupting system operation.
Dual-Node, Cluster-in-a-Box Design for High Availability
Our DuraStreams platforms employ dual-node system with a shared storage pool, also known as Cluster-in-a-Box platform. The system will have 2 hardware nodes each with its own motherboard, CPU, RAM, OS drives that can perform either active-active or active-passive redundancy depending on administrators requirements. These 2 hardware nodes share the same storage pool that has dual-ported drives such as 12G SAS drives or dual-ported NVMe drives, therefore each node will be able to read and write to the shared-storage pool.Industry Applications
Enterprise IT
In Enterprise IT where database are critical to have uptime especially during work day, any hardware failure downtime can be minimized and avoided even one of the node hardware failed and can be restore immediately with hot-swappable spare nodes.
Bio-Research
Bio-researchers require their data to be available all the time when they are researching genome sequencing for the next medical breakthrough and protection of the data is the utmost importance. Failure of hardware is unacceptable reason during sequencing.
Network Security
Network monitoring requires data logging database that can be store in our Durastreams platform without interrupting logging process even though one of the node fails.
